CVS Caremark will be working with the following partners in various capacities

2010 International VSA arts Festival

The 2010 International VSA arts Festival is a multicultural event celebrating the accomplishments of people with disabilities in arts and arts education. The festival, which brings together artists, educators, and researchers from around the world, was held in Washington, D.C., June 6-12. It featured performances and exhibitions by prominent artists at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Smithsonian Institution's International Gallery, and other venues throughout Washington, D.C. Additionally, the 2010 International VSA arts Festival will once again serve as a convergence of knowledge and practice in the arts, education, and disability through the VSA arts International Conference.

CVS Caremark's All Kids Can and VSA arts have common goals to support children with disabilities and raise awareness about the importance of inclusion, particularly in the arts.

Our partnership consists of All Kids Can ... CREATE!, an annual national call for art where we select 51 pieces of art by students with disabilities who are between the ages of 5-15, representing every state and D.C. The selected art is featured in the national exhibition, "State of the Art," on display at Union Station now until June 12. Each of the 5,500 submitted pieces of artwork are also included in an online gallery.

Each year, CVS Caremark has invited selected artists and their families to travel to D.C. to officially open their exhibit and see their artwork on national display, courtesy of the CVS Caremark Charitable Trust. This is the first year that CVS Caremark has invited all 51 artists and their families to D.C. so that they may also take part in the 2010 International VSA Festival.

This is the third year VSA arts and the CVS Caremark All Kids Can program are joining together in a comprehensive national campaign to encourage inclusive arts education and provide increased public awareness of the arts in the lives and learning of young people with disabilities.
