Youth Challenge

Youth Challenge brings together children with physical disabilities and youth volunteers who enrich each other's lives through one-on-one participation in a variety of adapted sports and reacreational activities. Activities are held year round after school, weekends, and during the summer months.
Youth Challenge brings together children with physical disabilities and youth volunteers who enrich each other's lives through one-on-one participation in a variey of adapted sports and recreational activities. Founded in 1976, Youth Challenge offers year-round adapted sports and recreatinal activities to children with physical disabilities. Participants range in age fro 4-18 years with physical disabilities that present orthopedic, sensory and motor ability challenges. Physical disabilities include: cerebral palsy, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy, anthrogyprosis, vision and hearing impairments and others. Participants are paired one-on-one with a teen volunteer at each activity. Teen volunteers are ages 12 and up. They are specifically trained by professionals and staff to work with children with various disabilities.

Youth Challenge provides year round, inclusive recreational activities which pair childen with disabilities one-on-on with teen volunteers. Together they share experiences that promote friendship and fun and build skills and character.

Participants range in age from 4-18 years with physical disabilities that present orthopedic, sensory and mobility challenges. Physical disabilities include cerebral palsy, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy, anthrogyprosis, vision and hearing impairments and others.

Youth Challenge teen volunteers are ages 12 and up and are specifically trained by professionals and staff to work with children with various disabilities.
