The mission of Durham Public Schools is to provide all students with an outstanding education that motivates them to reach their full potential and enables them to discover their interests and talents, pursue their goals and dreams, and succeed in college, in the workforce, and as engaged citizens.
As Durham Public Schools Occupational Therapists, our mission is helping the student with a disability to maximize his or her independence and successfully participate in the educational process. In order to carry out our mission, we use evidenced based practice consisting of: targeted, therapeutic activities, adaptation of the student's educational environment, and training and consultation with staff and families.
