Centre Elementary is a K-5 Title I school located in rural northeast Alabama. The school was established in 1929 and currently enrolls approximately 800 students. The mission of Centre Elementary School, in collaboration with staff, students, parents, and community, is to effectively prepare students to become positive, contributing members of society by allowing them to create, communicate, inquire, work cooperatively with others, and use critical thinking and reasoning skills. We will achieve our objective by promoting the personal, social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth of each individual student to be assimilated into a diverse, technologically oriented society through improved school climate and discipline. We believe that all children can learn, are unique, have worth, and that education is a worthwhile endeavor. We believe that achievement should be the constant, and time the variable.
