Adaptive Action Sports Inc

Adaptive Action Sports, Inc. (AAS) is an organization of permanently disabled athletes, who credit their active and independent lifestyles to their love of, and participation in, 'board sports' (snow, skate and wakeboarding). Founded in 2003 by double amputee Amy Purdy and her advocate Daniel Gale, AAS is a 501(c)(3) organization, registered in the State of California. AAS creates and promotes opportunities for individuals with permanent physical disabilities to participate in action sports, which have been largely neglected as rehabilitative tools for disabled youth. Action sports are part of youth culture for a substantial and growing percentage of America's young people. The opportunity for a disabled youth to ride a board allows that youth to be included in an activity valued by his/her peers.
