In 2006 CVS Caremark was the premiere sponsor of Easter Seals Walk With Me events nationwide. CVS Caremark associates formed walk teams to raise money for their local Easter Seals affiliates through car washes, bake sales, community events, community partnerships and other creative projects. More than 2,000 CVS Caremark associates participated in 28 Easter Seals Walk events, which helped raise over $275,000 for Easter Seals affiliates in markets across the country. The money raised will bring help and hope to many children living with disabilities.

You can make a difference! Join your local Walk With Me team today to raise money for Easter Seals.

Disability Awareness Nights
2007 Schedules

In 2002, EP Global Communications, Inc. created a dynamic community outreach program called Disability Awareness Night (DAN). The mission of DAN is to expand awareness of the 54 million Americans with disabilities by highlighting their extraordinary achievements and the perseverance and dedication of the families, caregivers, physicians, nurses, therapists and teachers involved in their care and development. The presentation of the EP Maxwell J. Schleifer Distinguished Service Award (named after the founder and former editor-in-chief of Exceptional Parent magazine) at each DAN event signifies the remarkable accomplishments that can be achieved under difficult circumstances. Since the program’s inception, DAN events have been held across the country honoring hundreds of people for their accomplishments and donating thousands of tickets to special needs organizations.

The free Baltimore Marathon Kids® six month program is launching this year with Baltimore City Schools (elementary). Baltimore was chosen this year because of repetitive requests from Baltimore leaders and because of the demographics and the vulnerability of area children to childhood obesity, sedentary lives and Type 2 diabetes.

Since 1995, Marathon Kids® has been working to bring the love of fitness and good nutrition to elementary school children in Texas and California. This free program focuses on getting kids active through running, walking and gardening, and helps them learn to make responsible food choices. Although popular with all children, this free program is especially important for those children who are most at risk for obesity and associated diseases.
