World-class Competition, World-class Fun
Each September, thousands of elite athletes converge in Providence, R.I. for the CVS Caremark Downtown 5K. This world-class sporting event serves as the USA Men’s & Women's 5K Championship for both individuals and teams. But that’s not all. The Downtown 5K is a great place for families, students and coworkers to get together and have some fun.
Through this great race—the largest in R.I., the spirit of volunteerism comes alive, health and fitness are embraced, and nonprofit organizations get an extra financial boost to help them fulfill their important missions.
The event offers a number of activities targeted to a variety of age groups and abilities, including:
- Youth Races – In addition to separate races for each age group, the CVS Caremark All Kids Can Inspiriational Event gives children of all abilities the opportunity to participate in the race.
- High School Inspirational 3K Run
- Corporate Team Event
- Firefighters vs. Police Officers Challenge
- College Challenge
